Zu Lai Temple

The Zu Lai Temple (Chinese: 如來寺, Portuguese: Templo Zu Lai; lit. 'Tathāgata Temple') is a Buddhist temple in Cotia, São Paulo state, Brazil. It is the largest Buddhist temple in South America. The temple covers 10,000 square meters of space, and the area around it is about 150,000 square meters.
The temple follows the teachings of the Fo Guang Shan order from Taiwan and practices the Mahāyāna branch of Buddhism. It is a peaceful place where people can learn and explore.
History
The first stone of the Zu Lai Temple was placed in 1999. The temple opened in October 2003.
