The 1921 Yakut revolt was one of the last battles of the Russian Civil War. It happened between September 1921 and June 1923 in a place called the Ayano-Maysky District, which is in the Russian Far East. People in this area were fighting for their own ideas about how things should be run. This revolt was also known as the Yakut expedition because it was a big effort to settle the fighting in that region. The events showed how different groups tried to control the area after a time of big changes in Russia.

Chronology

In September 1921, a group of about 200 people called the White Russians, led by Mikhail Korobeinikov, began an uprising in Yakutia. The Communist Party sent more soldiers to stop them. In March 1922, these rebels formed a new government in Churapcha. Later that month, one of the leaders helping the Communist Party was killed during a battle.

In April 1922, the leaders of the uprising asked for help from nearby areas. By summer, they were pushed out of Yakutsk and moved toward the coast. In August, a group led by Anatoly Pepelyayev sailed to support the rebels. However, by the end of October, the situation changed when the Civil War ended.

In early 1923, Soviet forces continued to fight the remaining rebels. By June, most of the rebel leaders were captured or had escaped, ending the conflict.
