2006 ISSF World Cup

The 2006 ISSF World Cup was a big competition for shooting sports. It included fifteen Olympic shooting events, and athletes from around the world came together to compete. There were four qualification events held between March and June, and the top shooters moved on to the ISSF World Cup Final in Granada, Spain, in October. This was special because it was the first time all the finals were held in one place.

During the final in Granada, amazing records were set. Chinese shooter Du Li matched the world record in the women's Air Rifle with a perfect score of 400, making her only the second woman ever to do this twice. In the men's Air Rifle, Thomas Farnik from Austria broke the final world record with a score of 703.1.

Another exciting moment was in the 25 m Rapid Fire Pistol event, where Alexei Klimov improved the world record from 589 to 591 and won a close race after losing most of his lead in the pre-final round.

In the men's Trap event, Czech shooter David Kostelecky matched the perfect world record of 125, but missed three targets in the final. He ended up losing to Olympic and European champion Aleksei Alipov after a shoot-off, and both shooters tied the final world record.
