The Alaska Department of Education & Early Development (EED) is an important part of the state government. Its job is to help with schools for children in Alaska. This includes taking care of education from the early years through high school. The department works to make sure all students have good learning opportunities and support.

It is based in Juneau, which is the capital city of Alaska. From there, the EED helps plan and organize education across the whole state. This means it looks after many schools and students, making sure they get the resources they need to learn and grow.
