The Anaheim City Council is the legislative branch of government for the city of Anaheim, California. It helps make important decisions for the city, like planning for parks, roads, and public services. The council is made up of elected leaders who represent different areas of Anaheim. They work together to create rules and support projects that help the community grow and stay safe. Their work affects everyday life for people living in and visiting Anaheim.
Structure
The Anaheim City Council is the group that helps make rules for the city of Anaheim, California. It includes the mayor, who is voted for by everyone in the city, and six other members who are voted for by people living in specific parts of the city. They each serve for four years and can only serve two times in a row.
The city uses a special way of governing where the council picks a city manager. This person helps run the day-to-day tasks of the city, puts the council’s plans into action, and gives advice to the council. The last big vote for some council seats was in November 2024, and the next one will be in 2028. The vote for the mayor and other council seats was in November 2022, with the next one in 2026. Even though people often have favorite political groups, all these positions are officially for everyone, no matter which group they belong to.

The mayor leads the Anaheim City Council and is elected by all the voters in the city. The other council members are chosen from specific areas called districts.
