Anaheim Piranhas

The Anaheim Piranhas were a professional arena football team. They played in the Arena Football League from 1994 to 1997. Their home games took place at Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California.
Before becoming the Anaheim Piranhas, the team was called the Las Vegas Sting. They moved to Anaheim in 1996. The team was owned by C. David Baker, who later became the commissioner of the Arena Football League.
History
The Las Vegas Sting was a team in the Arena Football League in 1994 and 1995. They played at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in 1994 and moved to the Thomas & Mack Center on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus in 1995. Before the 1996 season, the team moved to Anaheim, California and changed its name to the Anaheim Piranhas.
The Anaheim Piranhas played at Arrowhead Pond, sharing the venue with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim from the National Hockey League. The team did not attract many fans in Southern California and stopped playing after the 1997 season. The arena, now called the Honda Center, later became home to another Arena Football League team, the Los Angeles Kiss, in 2014.
