Bozoum
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
Bozoum is the capital of Ouham-Pendé, one of the 14 prefectures in the Central African Republic. It is an important town in the region, serving as a center for local government and community activities. Though not as large as some other cities, Bozoum plays a key role in the area. People there are involved in farming, trade, and other everyday life activities that help the community thrive.
History
In the early 1920s, Bozoum was selected as a place for a mission by a group called the Brethren. A mission station was built on a hill outside the village, named after a nearby mountain called Bassai. Though the mission is no longer there, two important missionaries are buried in that spot.
Bozoum got electricity for the first time in 1976. Over the years, the town has seen changes in who controls it. In 2014, one group left, and another took over. In 2019, the government sent forces to protect important businesses. In late 2020, rebels took control, but government forces regained it by February 2021.
Climate
Bozoum has a tropical wet and dry climate, which means it experiences distinct wet and dry seasons. This type of climate is common in many parts of the world and affects the weather patterns and natural environment of the area.
