Cala Gonone

Cala Gonone is a beautiful seaside town in Italy. It is part of the municipality of Dorgali in the Province of Nuoro, which is located in the island region of Sardinia. This town is known for its stunning coastline and clear blue waters, making it a popular spot for visitors who enjoy the beach and nature.
In 2007, Cala Gonone was home to 1,279 people. As a civil parish, or frazione, it is one of several small communities that make up the larger municipality. The town offers a peaceful atmosphere and is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, perfect for exploring and relaxing by the sea.
History
The area around Cala Gonone was home to people during the Nuragic Era. You can still see the remains of an old settlement at Nuraghe Mannu, just outside the village on the road to Dorgali. The modern village began when fishermen from the island of Ponza settled there in the early 1900s. For many years, the town stayed isolated from the rest of Sardinia until a tunnel from Dorgali was built in 1860.
Geography
Cala Gonone is a seaside town located in the Bay of Orosei on the east side of the island of Sardinia. It is part of the Supramonte region, about 9 kilometers from Dorgali, 41 kilometers from Nuoro, and 108 kilometers from Olbia. Near the town, you can find a famous show cave called Bue Marino, which many people visit by boat.
Because of its beautiful natural surroundings and clear blue water, Cala Gonone is a favorite place for tourists. The town has many lovely beaches, including Spiaggia Centrale, S'Abba Durche, Cala Luna, and Cala Fuili, among others. The area is protected within the Gennargentu National Park.
