Castlerock railway station is a train station that helps people travel to the villages of Castlerock, Articlave and the nearby small communities in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Many walkers use this station to visit beautiful places like Mussenden Temple, Downhill Strand and Benone.

Trains crossing at Castlerock in 2016. The down platform on the left has now been taken out of service and no longer has a running track.

The station first opened its doors on 18 July 1853. It was designed by a famous architect named Charles Lanyon. Originally, it had a single-story building made of red brick. Later, a modern two-story part was added, keeping the same style.

Over time, some changes happened to improve the railway line between Coleraine and Derry. The old passing loop at Castlerock was replaced with a new one at Bellarena. The old signal box, which was the last one of its kind on the railway network, closed on 2 November 2016. Now, all trains stop at the former up platform instead of using the down platform.

Service
