Cedar Park Christian School is a private Christian school with four campuses in Bothell, Mill Creek, Bellevue, and Lynnwood. The school is connected to a church in Bothell that also has branch churches in Kenmore, Woodinville, Duvall, and Redmond. The church also manages a cemetery on the Bothell campus.

As of 2020, the school had 1,591 students, with a student-to-teacher ratio of about 19 students for each teacher. The students come from many different backgrounds. Most are White (62.8%), with many Asian students (13.9%) as well. Smaller groups include African American, two or more races, American Indian, and others. About 2.3% of the students are Hispanic or Latino.

History

Cedar Park Christian School was started by Pastor Joe Fuiten in 1982 with just eight preschool students. The first group of students graduated in 1997. For many years, the school had only one campus with about 300 students. In 2004, a new building for the high school was finished.

Lynnwood Campus

Before it became part of Cedar Park Christian School, the Lynnwood Campus was known as Maple Park Elementary School. In 1963, it made history by becoming the first school without set grades in the Pacific Northwest.

Today, the Lynnwood Campus of Cedar Park Christian School has 181 students in secondary grades, including 17 graduating seniors. It also includes a preschool and elementary school.

Athletics

Cedar Park Bothell takes part in the Emerald Sound league of the WIAA RPI.

Football

Football High School Head Coach

The school has had several head coaches over the years: Greg Salios (2001-2008), Craig Shetterly (2008-2011), Todd Parmenter (2011-2014), Bill Marsh (2014-2017), Butch Goncharoff (2017-2019), and Manase Hopoi (2019-2022).

Football Awards

The team has won awards in the 1A State Tournament for the years 2003 through 2008.

Robotics

Cedar Park Christian School has a FIRST Robotics Competition team called CPR - Cedar Park Robotics. The team is made up of high school students from grades 9 to 12. Over the years, the team has done well in several events, including competitions in 2015, 2016, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Accreditation

Cedar Park Christian Schools is approved by the State of Washington. It has special approval from groups like AdvancED, The National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA), and The Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS). These approvals mean the school follows high standards for education.
