Council of Ministers (Belgium)
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
The Council of Ministers (Dutch: Ministerraad; French: Conseil des ministres; German: Ministerrat) is the main decision-making group in the Federal Government of the Kingdom of Belgium. It is led by the Prime Minister and includes up to fourteen senior ministers who help run the country. These ministers work together to make important decisions about laws and policies that affect everyone in Belgium.
Although the King of the Belgians used to chair the meetings, this practice stopped in 1957, and the council operates independently. The Council of Ministers became a permanent part of Belgium’s government structure after a major constitutional change in 1970, making it a key part of how Belgium is governed today.
