Curling at the 2026 Winter Olympics

The curling competitions of the 2026 Winter Olympics took place at the Cortina Olympic Stadium in Cortina d'Ampezzo. The games happened every day from February 4 to February 22. This was the ninth time that curling was part of the Olympic events.

Ten nations took part in three different categories: men's, women's, and mixed doubles. There were 120 spots for athletes, with 60 for each gender. Athletes could compete in both the men's or women's events and also in mixed doubles if their country qualified and they were chosen by their Olympic committee. Three events were held: one for men, one for women, and one mixed event.

Qualification

Italy automatically had a team for each curling event because they were the host country.

Teams could qualify for the curling tournaments in two ways:

  1. The eight highest ranked National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from world championships in 2024 and 2025 could earn spots. If Italy was in the top eight, only seven spots would be given out this way.
  2. The last two spots for each event were decided at an event held in December 2025 at the Kelowna Curling Club in Kelowna, Canada.

Competition schedule

The Cortina Olympic Stadium hosted the curling events.

The curling competitions began two days before the Opening Ceremony and ended on the final day of the Games. Curling was the only sport held every single day throughout the entire event. Below is the schedule for the curling competitions:

Allegations of Canadian delivery violations

The men's and women's curling teams from Canada were accused of breaking rules about how they delivered their stones during the 2026 Winter Olympics. The claims were that they touched the stones after they passed a certain line or touched parts of the stone they were not allowed to. One of the women's stones was removed from a game against Switzerland because of these rules being broken. In response, the WCF decided to place umpires at important spots to watch for these issues. After another similar problem in a game with a British curler, the WCF met with teams and agreed that umpires would only keep watching if someone made a complaint during a game.
