DZSR

DZSR (918 AM), known as Sports Radio, is a special radio station that focuses on sports. It is owned and run by the Presidential Broadcast Service, which is part of the Presidential Communications Office. The station's studio is located on the 4th floor of the Media Center Building in Visayas Avenue, Quezon City, and its transmitter is in Malolos, Bulacan.

The station operates every day from early morning at 5:00 AM until evening at 8:00 pm. As the country's first radio station dedicated to sports, it airs lots of sports shows. In fact, 70% of its programs are about sports, while the other 30% include news, information, and lifestyle topics.

History

DZSR first started as DPI Radyo 2 during the time of Ferdinand Marcos. On May 10, 1986, it became known as Sports Radio under Jose Mari Gonzales, who led the Bureau of Broadcast Services. At first, it focused on sports news and information.

Over the years, DZSR changed frequencies and call letters a few times. In 1995, it moved to 918 kHz and kept the name DZSR. In 2010, it briefly changed to DWSY to include more youth programs but returned to DZSR later that year. In 2017, it was called Radyo Pilipinas 2 but brought back the Sports Radio brand in November 2025. During the COVID-19 community quarantine in March 2020, it temporarily stopped broadcasting but returned in March 2022. In January 2023, it began covering the Philippine Basketball Association games.
