History

The ESADE Business School began in 1954 when a group of Spanish professionals and entrepreneurs wanted to improve business training. They worked with the Jesuits and started their first classes in a small building in Sant Gervasi, Barcelona, in 1958. Over the years, they added many programs, including an MBA in 1964. New campuses opened in Pedralbes, Barcelona, in 1965, Sant Cugat del Vallès in 2009, and Madrid in 2025.

Students can also do internships or study at other schools around the world during their MBA. Most students come from many different countries.

ESADE also has special classes for people who already have jobs, called Executive Education. And for those who want to teach at business schools, there is a PhD programme to help them learn how to become teachers and researchers.
