Egypt Vision 2030
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
Egypt Vision 2030 is a big plan made by the Egyptian Government in February 2016. The country's president, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, shared this plan with everyone. It has eight main goals that Egypt wants to reach by the year 2030. These goals match what the United Nations wants for the world and plans for Africa.
The plan was changed to fit new challenges inside and around Egypt. Many groups helped make this happen, like different government teams, businesses, and experts.
The plan focuses on three big areas: the economy, society, and the environment. It wants to help people learn new things and come up with ideas. It also wants to build more factories and help people have jobs. The plan tries to manage how fast the population grows and make sure everyone lives in fair places. It also supports women and young people, helps small businesses grow, and encourages new ideas and starting new companies.
Overview
Egypt has set aside $9.8 billion to support the United Nations' goals for a better world, which are part of Egypt Vision 2030. This help came because of the worldwide COVID-19 crisis.
On January 2, 2021, Dr. Mohamed Nofal, an expert in information and communication technology, shared that Egypt is making good progress in using technology in every area. As part of Egypt's plans for 2030, the country wanted to start digital services for everyone, and these services began across the nation.
In 2020, Egypt was the only country in the Middle East and North Africa area that saw its money grow instead of shrink during the COVID-19 recession. All other countries in that area were expected to lose money in 2020, but they were expected to grow by 2.2 percent in 2021.
Objectives
The Egypt Vision 2030 plan has eight main goals to help the country improve by 2030. These goals focus on making life better for everyone in Egypt.
One goal is to improve the quality of life by reducing poverty. Egypt has seen its poverty rates go down for the first time in many years, and the plan aims to end poverty completely by 2030.
Another goal is social equality. Egypt's constitution emphasizes fairness and equal rights for all people. The plan wants to promote social justice, include everyone in society, and empower all groups through active participation.
The economic goal focuses on reducing the government's debt and deficit. It also aims to build a modern, digital economy that encourages new ideas, supports small businesses, and creates jobs for more people.
Education is another key area. Egypt wants to use technology to improve schools and training programs, helping students gain skills that prepare them for the job market.
Environmental goals include protecting nature while allowing growth. Egypt plans to use resources wisely, fight climate change, rely more on clean energy, and prepare for natural disasters.
Good governance is important too. The plan aims to create clear rules, transparency, and fight against corruption to ensure fair and effective government.
National security covers many areas like food, water, energy, and information safety. It also includes keeping borders secure and working against threats to stability.
Finally, Egypt wants to strengthen its role globally. The country plans to build strong partnerships with other nations, share its knowledge, and offer help where needed to support development in the region.
Projects
Since 2016, Egypt has started many big projects across the country as part of its Egypt Vision 2030 plan. These projects have different goals but all work together to help the country grow.
Hayah Karima
Hayah Karima is a major project that focuses on helping the poorest people in rural areas and remote villages. It aims to give them better homes, good medical care, quality education, and the basic infrastructure they need to live a comfortable life. This project supports many of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Over three phases, it plans to improve life for 60 million people living in the countryside. It also helped protect these communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
New Administrative Capital
The New Administrative Capital is Egypt’s largest project today. It includes many important buildings and areas such as the Iconic Tower, The Octagon, Oblisco Capitale, Green River Park, Al-Fattah al-Aleem Mosque, Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, Cairo, and the Central Business District, along with an Olympic City and Capital International Airport.
Local Military Production
Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production created a plan to build up the country’s own military manufacturing. This plan, worth about £E 7.3 billion (US$465,000,000), aims to support the Egyptian Armed Forces from 2020 to 2030 and also to export extra products from 2025 to 2030. The budget will be used for making ammunition, weapons, and equipment.
