Freiburg is one of the four administrative divisions of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is located in the southwest part of the country. The area includes the beautiful Black Forest hills and the Rhine valley.

Freiburg is divided into three regions: Hochrhein-Bodensee, Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg, and Südlicher Oberrhein. It also has nine districts and 294 municipalities, making it a large and interesting place to learn about.

Economy

The Freiburg region had a big economy. In 2018, its money made from goods and services was 86.9 billion euros. This was a big part—2.6%—of all the money made in Germany that year.

People in Freiburg can travel easily. There is a big airport called EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg near the borders of Germany, France, and Switzerland. Other airports like Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport, Stuttgart Airport, Strasbourg Airport, and Zurich Airport are also close by.
