The Grand Rapids Gold are an American professional basketball team that plays in the NBA G League. The team is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is connected to the Denver Nuggets. They play their home games at Van Andel Arena.

The team started in 2006 as the Anaheim Arsenal. In 2009, they moved to Springfield, Massachusetts and became the Springfield Armor. After five seasons there, the team moved to Grand Rapids in 2014 and were called the Grand Rapids Drive. In 2021, they changed their name one last time to the Grand Rapids Gold.

Franchise history

The team started in 2006 in Anaheim, California as the Anaheim Arsenal, playing in the NBA Development League. They were linked with several big teams but never won many games or made the playoffs. In 2009, they moved to Springfield, Massachusetts and became the Springfield Armor.

In 2014, the team moved again, this time to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and became the Grand Rapids Drive. They were linked with the Detroit Pistons. After some changes, in 2021 the team became the Grand Rapids Gold, linking up with the Denver Nuggets. They now play their home games at Van Andel Arena.
