Greenland Center, Xi'an

Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience

The China International Silk Road Center (simplified Chinese: 西安绿地中心; traditional Chinese: 西安綠地中心, formerly Greenland Center) is a very tall building that is still being planned in Xi'an, a city in Shaanxi, China. When it is finally built, it will stand at 498 meters (1,634 feet) tall. This makes it the tallest building planned for Xi'an.

The building’s height was changed from the original plan of 501 meters (1,644 feet) because of new rules in China about how tall buildings can be. The project is being worked on by a big building company called the Greenland Group. This center will be an important part of Xi'an when it is completed.

History

Construction on the Greenland Center in Xi'an started in 2019. It was originally planned to be 501 meters tall, but new rules about building heights changed the plan to 270 meters.
