The Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, known in Hebrew as הלשכה המרכזית לסטטיסטיקה and in Arabic as دائرة الإحصاء المركزية الإسرائيلية, is an important office of the Israeli government. It was created in 1949 to help understand many parts of life in Israel. The CBS looks at things like how many people live in Israel, how societies work, the economy, jobs, schools, and the buildings and roads that people use.

This office is based in a neighborhood called Givat Shaul in Jerusalem, and it also has a smaller office in Tel Aviv. By collecting and sharing data, the CBS helps leaders and everyday people make better decisions for the country.
