KVCE

KVCE (92.7 FM) is a radio station that serves the area around Slaton, Texas and the larger Lubbock, Texas region. It is owned by VCY America, Inc. and plays music and shows that share Conservative and Christian beliefs.

The station started with a different name, KJAK, given by the Federal Communications Commission. Over time, it changed its call sign to KVCE and became a Class C1 station, which helps it reach many listeners in the area.

Today, KVCE offers a special kind of programming that connects people with messages of faith and values important to many in the community.

History

The radio station started in 1978 with the name KJAK, which stands for "Keep Jesus as King." It was first located in an old building between Slaton and Lubbock, Texas. The station faced some signal issues and later moved to a stronger signal on 92.7 FM.

The station was originally founded by Gary L. Acker from Yukon, Oklahoma. In the early 1980s, it was bought by Williams Oil Co., which kept the same religious programming but added some news, weather, and sports. In 2019, the station was sold to VCY America, Inc., and its call sign was changed to KVCE.
