Lakeshore East Building I is a tall building planned as part of a big project in Chicago called Lakeshore East. It will stand 950 feet tall, which is about as high as 29 school buses stacked together! The building is located just south of Wacker Drive and west of Lake Shore Drive, with a possible address at 300 North Lake Shore Drive.

Before this building was planned, the area was used by the Illinois Central Railroad for their train yards. In the 1990s, there was even a small golf course there. Now, people want to build homes and offices in this special spot.

Making this area look nice and easy to walk around was a big challenge because of the three-level streets. Builders decided to place shops and doors at different levels so people could enjoy walking and visiting the park in the center. The Chicago Plan Commission approved plans for this building in October 2018, and it is one of four new tall buildings planned for the area. Construction was set to begin after two other buildings, called Cirrus and Cascade, started being built in the summer of 2019.
