The Lapicini were an ancient group of people from the Ligurian region. They lived in the far northern part of Liguria, an area known to the Romans. The Lapicini were mentioned by the writer Livy, who told how they were brought under control by Rome. This happened in the year 175 BCE, during the time when two Roman leaders, Marcus Aemilius Lepidus and Quintus Mucius Scaevola, were in charge. Their land was near a river called the Magra, which flowed through the area they called home.
