Laura Pausini is an Italian singer and songwriter who became famous in 1993. She won a music contest called the Sanremo Music Festival with her song "La solitudine," which became very popular around the world. Her first album, also named Laura Pausini, was released in 1993 and sold two million copies globally. Her next album, Laura, sold even more, with three million copies sold worldwide.

Pausini has released fifteen studio albums and has performed songs in many languages, including Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, and more. In 2006, she won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album with her record Escucha. In 2021, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song with "Io sì (Seen)" from the film The Life Ahead. This song also won a Golden Globe Award, making it the first Italian-language song to receive this honor.

Throughout her career, Pausini has won many awards and has been recognized for her contributions to music. She has also appeared as a coach on television shows like The Voice in Mexico and Spain, and as a judge on La banda and the Spanish version of The X Factor. Life and career

Pausini rose to fame in 1993, after winning the 43rd Sanremo Music Festival, annually held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, Italy.

Laura Pausini was born in Faenza, in the Province of Ravenna, to Fabrizio Pausini and Gianna Ballardini. She grew up in Solarolo, a small town in the same region. Her father, a former pianist, encouraged her to start performing as a singer. Her first live performance was in 1985, when she sang with her father in a restaurant in Bologna. She continued to perform alongside him and also started singing in a church choir.

In 1993, Pausini won the newcomer artists' section of the 43rd Sanremo Music Festival with the song "La solitudine," which became a big hit. Her self-titled debut album was released in Italy in April 1993 and later became an international success, selling two million copies worldwide. The album included hits like "Non c'è" and "Perché non torna più."

Since 2005, she has been with a musician named Paolo Carta. They had a daughter in 2013 and got married in 2023 after being together for many years.

Laura says she believes in God and respects the Church, but she has shared her thoughts about some rules she feels need to change.

Honours

Laura Pausini was given a very special award in Italy called the Commander Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. This is one of the most important awards a person can receive in Italy. She received it from the president, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, on February 6, 2006.
