List of power stations in Mauritania
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
This article lists the power stations in Mauritania. Energy in Mauritania is managed by the national company called Somelec. Most of the electricity comes from small diesel generators, but the country is building more ways to get power from the sun and wind because these natural resources are abundant in Mauritania.
As the country develops more renewable energy sources, it is also sharing extra power with nearby countries. Mauritania sends surplus energy to Senegal and Mali. It also benefits from large dams in Mali that help provide hydroelectric power. This helps meet the growing needs of people and businesses in Mauritania.
Thermal
In Mauritania, most electricity comes from small power stations that run on diesel fuel. These stations are not all connected to a big power grid, but that is changing. The country is building more power stations that can share electricity with each other, and they are also starting to use wind and sunlight to make clean energy because Mauritania has lots of wind and sunshine.
