Two athletes from Madagascar competed in the athletics events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Nirinaharifidy Ramilijaona ran in the women's 100 m, and Joseph-Berlioz Randriamihaja competed in the men's 110 m hurdles.
Ramilijaona ran the women's 100 m on August 16, 2008, finishing fifth in her heat with a time of 12.07 seconds. She did not move on to the next round. Randriamihaja ran the men's 110 m hurdles on August 18, 2008, finishing fifth in his heat with a time of 13.91 seconds. He also did not advance to the next round.

Two athletes from Madagascar competed in swimming at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Tojohanitra Andriamanjatoarimanana swam in the women's 50 m freestyle, and Erik Rajohnson swam in the men's 100 m breaststroke.
Rajohnson swam his race on August 9, 2008, and finished first in his heat but did not go on to the next round. Andriamanjatoarimanana swam on August 15, 2008, and finished sixth in her heat but also did not move on to the next round.
