Madagascar at the 2008 Summer Olympics

Madagascar took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China. The country was represented by the Malagasy Olympic Committee.

Six athletes from Madagascar competed, including four men and two women. They participated in four different sports: athletics, boxing, judo, and swimming. This showed the diverse talents of Madagascan athletes on the international stage.

Two athletes from Madagascar competed in the athletics events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Nirinaharifidy Ramilijaona ran in the women's 100 m, and Joseph-Berlioz Randriamihaja competed in the men's 110 m hurdles.

Ramilijaona ran the women's 100 m on August 16, 2008, finishing fifth in her heat with a time of 12.07 seconds. She did not move on to the next round. Randriamihaja ran the men's 110 m hurdles on August 18, 2008, finishing fifth in his heat with a time of 13.91 seconds. He also did not advance to the next round.

Boxing

One athlete from Madagascar took part in the boxing events. His name was Jean de Dieu Soloniaina, and he competed in the lightweight category. He faced an opponent from Mexico and the match happened in August 2008.

One athlete from Madagascar took part in the judo events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. His name was Elie Norbert, and he competed in the men's −60 kg category on August 9, 2008. In the first round, Norbert faced an opponent from North Korea and lost the match.

Two athletes from Madagascar competed in swimming at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Tojohanitra Andriamanjatoarimanana swam in the women's 50 m freestyle, and Erik Rajohnson swam in the men's 100 m breaststroke.

Rajohnson swam his race on August 9, 2008, and finished first in his heat but did not go on to the next round. Andriamanjatoarimanana swam on August 15, 2008, and finished sixth in her heat but also did not move on to the next round.
