Marc Dos Santos

Marc Dos Santos (born May 26, 1977) is a Canadian soccer coach. He is currently the head coach for Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer.

Before coaching Los Angeles FC, he was the head coach of Montreal Impact in the D2 Pro League and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. In 2015, he was named North American Soccer League Coach of the Year after leading the Ottawa Fury to the North American Soccer League Championship Final.

He has also coached at Swope Park Rangers in the United Soccer League and the San Francisco Deltas in the NASL. Before that, he worked with youth teams in Brazil, including Primeira Camisa and Palmeiras, where he helped win a Copa do Brasil Sub-15 championship. He also served as a technical director for Desportivo Brasil.

Coaching career

Marc Dos Santos began his coaching career in 2006 with the Lac St. Louis Lakers in the Ligue de Soccer Elite Quebec. In 2007, he joined the Montreal Impact to coach their reserve team, the Trois-Rivières Attak, in the Canadian Soccer League. Under his guidance, the team won the Open Canada Cup and finished second in their division.

Later, Dos Santos became an assistant coach with the Montreal Impact first team. He was named head coach in 2009 and led the team to win the USL First Division title that year. He also coached in Brazil with Primeira Camisa, Palmeiras, and Desportivo Brasil, achieving notable successes with youth teams.

In 2013, he joined Ottawa Fury as their first-ever coach and was later named Coach of the Year in 2015. He then coached Swope Park Rangers and led them to the USL Cup final. In 2017, he became the first head coach of the San Francisco Deltas and guided them to win the league title. He later coached Vancouver Whitecaps FC before joining Los Angeles FC as an assistant coach. In December 2025, he was named head coach of Los Angeles FC.

Personal life

Marc Dos Santos is a dual citizen of Canada and Portugal. He has a UEFA A coaching license and has worked at both Chelsea and Porto. He speaks four languages and is married to Marie, with three children. Marc is the older brother of soccer coach Phillip Dos Santos.

• In 2007, he was the head coach of the Open Canada Cup Champions.
• In 2008, his team won the Canadian Soccer League Division and Regular Season titles.
• He was nominated for Coach of the Year in both 2008 and 2009.
• In 2009, his team won the USL Championship.
• In 2012, he led a Brazilian youth team to win the U–15 championship.
• In 2015, he was named NASL Coach of the Year and his team won the NASL Fall Season.
• In 2016, his team became USL Western Conference Champions.
• In 2017, he won the NASL Coach of the Year award again and his team won the NASL Soccer Bowl Championship.
