The Memphis Flyer is a free weekly alternative newspaper for the greater Memphis, Tennessee area. It shares news, stories about politics, music, fun activities, sports, food, and drinks.

It started on February 14, 1989, by Kenneth Neill. Today, Shara Clark is the editor. The newspaper is part of a bigger company called Contemporary Media, Inc., which also makes other magazines like Memphis Magazine, Memphis Parent, and Inside Memphis Business. Anna Traverse Fogle is the leader of this company.

People can find the Memphis Flyer in many places across the Mid-South every Wednesday morning. It says it has over 600 spots to pick it up and more than 222,000 readers each week. During COVID-19, the Flyer printed every two weeks instead of weekly but helped local artists by making a coloring book. Its website, Memphisflyer.com, has news and stories every day, with the weekly newspaper’s stories added on Thursday mornings. Old issues from the past year can be read on issuu.
