The club was originally founded in 1906, though many people consider its beginning to be in 1905. After facing financial difficulties, the club had to start again in 2010. Over the years, Olbia has achieved success, winning nine championships, including a Serie D Scudetto in 2002.

Olbia’s team color is white, and its symbols include a ship and the island of Tavolara. The team plays its home games at the Stadio Bruno Nespoli.

History

Olbia Calcio is an Italian football club from the city of Olbia. It was first formed in 1905, though records show it was officially founded on January 12, 1906, as Società Ginnastica Olbia. The club has had many ups and downs over the years.

After World War II, Olbia played in Serie C but had to restart from lower divisions due to money problems. In the 1950s, a famous Italian player, Gino Colaussi, helped the team and they moved back up to Serie D. Olbia moved between different levels of Italian football for many years.

In 2010, the club had to restart again after money problems, but it kept going. In 2016, Olbia won a big play-off and returned to a higher level of Italian football for the first time in 22 years. Most recently, in the 2023–24 season, Olbia played in Serie C but were moved down to Serie D after finishing last in their group.

Colours and symbols

Olbia's team was first created when the town was called Terranova. The name changed to Olbia in 1939, celebrating local pride.

The team's main colour is white, earning them the nickname Bianchi. Early uniforms featured maroon, red, and white designs, and included the symbol of the island.

The team's logo has changed over time but always shows a ship and the island of Tavolara, near Olbia. The current logo, introduced in 2016, features a ship with the island's symbol on its sail, the island itself, and the name 'Olbia' with the year 1905. Some fans prefer older logo styles.

The team's first official anthem was Olè, Olbia olè, and a new anthem called Terranoa debuted in 2017.
