The Open'er Festival is a big music festival that happens every year on the north coast of Poland, in the city of Gdynia. It is one of the largest music festivals in Poland, attracting many music lovers from around the world. The festival started in Warsaw in 2002 and was called Open Air Festival. Over the years, it has grown into a major event in the music world.

Open’er Festival has been recognized for its quality and atmosphere, winning the Best Major Festival prize at the European Festivals Awards in 2009, 2010, 2019, and 2024. This shows how important and popular the festival has become in the world of music and entertainment.

History

The first Open Air Festival happened in Warsaw in 2002, with a band called The Chemical Brothers playing. After that, the festival moved to Gdynia and grew bigger each year. By 2005, over 50,000 people came to enjoy the music. Since 2006, the festival has been held at an airport in Gdynia.

Organization

The Open'er Festival is organized by a concert agency called Alter Art. In 2016, the festival had 5 main stages: Orange Main, Alter, Beat, Firestone, and Tent. There were also smaller stages run by sponsors and vendors. Artists performed in a Silent Disco Area and at the seaside in Gdynia on the Gdynia Open Stage, where people could attend events for free.
