Regina Public Schools

Regina Public Schools, also called Regina School Division #4, is the main public school system in the city of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada. It helps students learn in many schools across the area, and its main office is called the J.A. Burnett Education Centre, named for a teacher named Jim Burnett.

In 2020, the school system began asking families about their backgrounds when children join school. There is also a special survey where students can share more about their own heritage, and this shows that many students come from First Nations communities.

In 2021, leaders of the school system decided to create special lessons to help everyone understand and respect different kinds of people better. Everyone who works in the schools agreed to support this idea.

History

The headquarters of Regina Public Schools got its current name in 1985.

In 2020, the board had many new members. In September of that year, board member Jane Ekong shared a report about the experiences of Black Canadian students in the district.
