Saltimbocca

Saltimbocca is a tasty Italian dish that is also enjoyed in southern Switzerland. It is made from thin slices of veal that are wrapped with prosciutto and sage. The dish is then marinated in wine, oil, or salt water, depending on the region or personal taste.
The original version is called saltimbocca alla romana, which means "Roman-style saltimbocca." This version uses veal, prosciutto, and sage, rolled up and cooked in dry white wine and butter. Sometimes, Marsala wine is used instead. In some recipes, the veal and prosciutto are left flat instead of being rolled.
In America, people sometimes make a variation of this dish using chicken or pork instead of veal. No matter how it is made, saltimbocca is a delicious and popular meal enjoyed by many.
