Shakarparian (Urdu: شکر پڑیاں; also known as Shakarparian Hills) is a hill and a national park located near the Zero Point Interchange in Islamabad, Pakistan. Important landmarks like the Pakistan Monument and the Pakistan Monument Museum are found here, making it a special place for visitors.
Before the Indo-Pak partition in 1947, members of the Gakhar tribe lived in this area. Later, in 1960–61, they were moved to create a beautiful park for the country’s new federal capital.
Every year on 23 March, Shakarparian hosts the Pakistan Day Parade, which takes place on a large parade ground. This event brings together people to celebrate and show pride in their nation.
