The 1896 Summer Olympics included five sport shooting events. These competitions happened at a new shooting range in Kallithea. The Sub-Committee for Shooting organized and prepared everything for the events. Sixty-one shooters from seven different countries took part in these shooting contests.

These medals were given later by the International Olympic Committee. Back then, the winners got a silver medal, and the others didn’t get any award.

Sub-Committee for Shooting
The shooting events at the 1896 Summer Olympics were organized by a special group called the Sub-Committee for Shooting. HRH Prince Nicholas of Greece was the president, and Ioannis Phrangoudis served as the secretary. Other members included Demosthenes Staikos, Alc. Krassas, Joan. Konstantinides, Alex. Kondostavlos, Ath. Botzaris, Ath. Pierrakos, Georges Antonopoulos, and Stephen Skouloudis.
