The Shaw Group

The Shaw Group was a company that worked with pipes and steel. They were special at making bends in metal using a process called induction bending. The company's main office was in Houston, Texas.

Shaw had around 1,400 employees. These workers were spread out in different places in North America and the Middle East. The company helped build many important projects, like power plants and oil facilities, by providing the metal parts they needed.

History

Shaw was started in 1986 by J.M. Bernhard Jr., Oscar J.LaFleur, and A.W. Angelo as a place to make things from metal. At first, it was called Shaw Industries Inc. Over time, Shaw grew by buying other companies that made pipes and metal parts.

In 2006, Shaw bought part of the Westinghouse Electric Company, which was mostly owned by Toshiba. In 2013, Toshiba bought Shaw’s share of Westinghouse.

In 2012, another company called CB&I bought Shaw for about $3 billion. Later, in 2018, CB&I was bought by McDermott International.

In 2020, McDermott sold Shaw’s pipe-making parts to a new company called Shaw Acquisitions Holdings LLC. These parts included factories in different places like Louisiana, Arkansas, South Carolina, Utah, and also in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. Shaw also got to use its old name again.

Shaw moved its main office from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Houston, Texas. The leaders of Shaw are Mike Childers as CEO, Sachin Singh as COO, and Andrew Cannon as CFO.
