Venterskroon is a town in Tlokwe Local Municipality in the North West province of South Africa. It is an old mining town set in a valley in the middle of the Dome Mountain Land.

The town is home to the Vredefort Dome Information Centre. The Vredefort Dome marks the center of the Vredefort impact structure, which is the world's largest, oldest, and most deeply eroded asteroid impact structure. Because of its great importance, UNESCO listed it as a World Heritage Site.

Archaeologists have uncovered evidence of the earliest people who lived in the Venterskroon area at the farm Thabela Thabeng. They found ancient rock drawings, called petroglyphs, that show pictures of hippos and rhinos.
