Warren and Myrta Bacon House

The Warren and Myrta Bacon House is a special building found at 1802 Broadway in Lubbock, Texas. It was designed and built in 1916 by an architect named W. M. Rice from Amarillo, Texas. The house looks very grand because it was made in a style called neo-classical.

This house was built for a man named Warren A. Bacon, who was a well-known and successful businessman in the area. He also helped a lot with community projects, making Lubbock a better place to live.

Because the house is so old and beautiful, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. This means it is very important to people who care about history and old buildings. Owners

Warren Bacon moved to Lubbock in 1893 and lived in this house from when it was built until he passed away in 1938. His wife, Mrs. Myrta Bacon, also lived there from its construction until her passing in 1967. In 1981, the Episcopal Diocese of Northwest Texas bought the house, and they still own it today.
