Waterline is a tall, modern skyscraper in Austin, Texas, designed for homes, offices, and a hotel.

Waterline is a very tall building being built in Austin, Texas, in the United States. When it is finished, it will be 1,025 feet (312 meters) tall and will have places to live, offices, and a hotel. In August 2025, when the building reached its full height, it became the tallest building in Austin. It also became the tallest building in Texas and the tallest building in the Southern United States at that time. The building is expected to be completed in 2026.

Tenants

Waterline Austin will have special places for people to stay and eat. There will be a hotel called 1 Hotel Austin with 251 rooms, run by Starwood Hotels. There will also be a restaurant named Alteño, created by the people who started the famous restaurant Alma Fonda Fina in Denver. Alteño will serve tasty food inspired by Altos de Jalisco in Mexico, and it is planned to open in Summer 2026.

Location

Waterline is located between two important places in Austin. To the east, it is next to the Rainey Street Historic District, and to the west is Waller Creek. Above the building is Cesar Chavez Street, and just a few blocks below it is Lady Bird Lake.
