The weightlifting competition at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul brought together strong athletes from around the world. There were ten different weight classes, and only men competed in this event. Weightlifting at the Olympics is a chance for athletes to show their strength and skill by lifting heavy weights over their heads and on their shoulders. Medal summary

Some athletes were disqualified because they used substances they shouldn’t have. Mitko Grablev from Bulgaria and Angel Guenchev from Bulgaria, who both won gold medals, and Andor Szanyi from Hungary, who won a silver medal, were all disqualified after tests showed they had used forbidden substances.
