Wine festival

Wine festivals are special events that celebrate the making and enjoying of wine. They usually happen after grapes are harvested, which in many places is in late September and through October. These festivals are found in many wine regions around the world and are similar to other harvest celebrations.

The ancient Egyptians honored the god Osiris with wine, but the earliest known wine festivals come from Greek celebrations for their wine god Dionysos.
