Xenopeltis intermedius is a non-venomous sunbeam snake species that lives in Vietnam. This snake is special because it has a pattern and body shape that are right in the middle between two of its closest relatives, Xenopeltis unicolor and X. hainanensis. The name intermedius means “in the middle,” showing how this snake looks like a mix of the other two. Sunbeam snakes are known for their shiny, smooth skin that looks like it’s glowing in the sunlight, making Xenopeltis intermedius a fascinating creature to learn about.
