Yulee is a place in Nassau County, Florida, in the United States. In 2020, it had a population of 14,195 people, which was more than the 11,491 people counted in 2010. Yulee is part of the bigger area known as the Jacksonville metropolitan statistical area.
Many people who live in Yulee travel to work in nearby places such as Jacksonville, Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, and parts of Southeast Georgia. The area is close to many interesting spots, including Amelia Island, Jacksonville International Airport, and Florida State College at Jacksonville's Nassau Center. It is also near natural areas like White Oak Conservation and the Nassau Wildlife Management Area.
Yulee gets many of its services from the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and has its own Yulee Branch Library. The Florida Welcome Center along Interstate 95 is also nearby, making it a convenient spot for travelers.
History
A post office named Yulee has existed since 1893. The community was named after David Levy Yulee, an important person who helped build the Florida Railroad and later served as a United States senator from Florida.

Climate
Yulee has a humid subtropical climate, which means it has mild winters and hot, humid summers. This type of climate is common in the southern Atlantic region of the United States. The area gets most of its rain from May through September, while the driest time of year is between November and April. Because Yulee is near the coast and at a lower latitude, it rarely gets very cold, so winters are usually mild and sunny.
Economy
Yulee has many fun outdoor festivals and events, with the big Holiday Festival and Parade being the most popular. The area has many places to eat, including restaurants and cafes, and some bars for evening fun. Yulee also has places for sports and fitness, like a sports complex and a gymnasium.
Yulee is home to two big golf courses, both with 18 holes. The Golf Club at North Hampton was helped designed by Arnold Palmer, and the Amelia National Golf and Country Club was designed by Tom Fazio.
Yulee is where the Nassau County Economic Development Board has its main office, working to bring new businesses to the area. The Nassau County Sheriff's Office is also based here. In 2017, the University of Florida planned to build two health and fitness centers. In 2018, a large energy company, Florida Public Utilities, decided to move to Yulee and build a big new headquarters.
There is a Florida Welcome Center in northern Yulee near the Georgia border on I-95. Visitors can get lots of information about travel and fun things to do in Florida, and they get to try a free cup of Florida juice, like orange or grapefruit.
In 2017, Rayonier built its new main office in Yulee and planned to develop a big pine forest area called Wildlight. This area will include homes, offices, schools, shops, and more. The Wildlight Elementary School opened in 2017 and can hold over 600 students.
Local government
Yulee has its own fire department and gets help from two nearby fire stations run by Nassau County. The Yulee Volunteer Fire Department works together with the county’s fire team for any fires in the area.
The Nassau County Sheriff's Office looks after Yulee and all of Nassau County, Florida. They make sure everyone follows the Florida Constitution and state laws and statutes, keeping the community safe. They also manage the jail and provide security for the courts. The Robert M. Foster Justice Center in Yulee opened in 2004 to help with court needs. It’s bigger than the old Nassau County Courthouse in Fernandina Beach, Florida, covering over 111,000 square feet and costing more than $20 million to build.
Education
Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) has a campus called the Betty P. Cook Nassau Center in Yulee. This college is part of the Florida College System and offers many courses, certificates, and degree programs. It also has a special 16-acre Outdoor Education Center.

Apple Pope is a rugby player for the United States national rugby league team. D. J. Stewart, born in 1993, has played baseball for the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Zack Taylor lived from 1898 to 1974 and was a baseball player and manager for the St. Louis Browns.
