Adélie Land is a special part of Antarctica that France calls its own. It stretches from the coast of the Southern Ocean all the way to the South Pole. This area is very cold and covered in ice, with strong winds that shape the snow and ice.

People from France have lived and worked here since 1950. They follow special rules to keep the area peaceful for science. The land was named after a brave woman named Adèle by a French explorer named Jules Dumont d'Urville.

Adélie Land is home to many wonderful animals. You can see Adélie penguins and emperor penguins along the coast. There are also seals that swim in the cold waters. Scientists come here to learn about these animals and the icy world around them.
