Anne Frank
Anne Frank was a young girl who loved to write. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany, but moved to Amsterdam with her family when she was little. Her family moved because some people in Germany were not kind to Jewish families like theirs.
When Anne was 13, she got a special gift for her birthday—a diary. She called her diary “Kitty” and wrote about her life every day. Soon after, Anne and her family had to hide in a secret attic place in Amsterdam to stay safe.
After the war ended, Anne’s father found her diary. He thought it was important for people to read, so he shared it with the world. The diary is called The Diary of a Young Girl and has been read by millions. It helps us remember to be kind to everyone, no matter who they are.
Today, many people visit the place where Anne Frank hid. It is called the Anne Frank House and is a special spot to learn about her life and stories. Her diary teaches us about hope and kindness during very hard times.
