About Bandingilo National Park

Bandingilo National Park is a big, beautiful park in South Sudan. It is found in the Equatoria area, close to the White Nile river. The park is huge, covering more than 10,000 square kilometres, and has big marshlands that reach into Jonglei state.

Animals and Birds

Bandingilo National Park is a special place for animals. Many kinds of antelope, like the Bohor reedbuck, tiang, and white-eared kob, visit the park as part of a big yearly journey. The park is also home to rare animals such as the Nubian giraffe and the Northeast African cheetah. You can also find African wild dogs, caracals, and many beautiful birds. In 2021, about 400 different kinds of birds were seen there, making it an Important Bird Area.

Changing Seasons

The park changes with the seasons. In the wet season, the grasslands flood, and in the dry season, big fires happen. These changes help keep the grassland homes healthy for the animals.
