Beijing National Stadium
The Beijing National Stadium is a very big and special stadium in Beijing, China. People also call it the Bird’s Nest because it looks like a nest made by birds. It is located in a place called Olympic Green in the Chaoyang district.
This amazing building was made ready for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It can hold up to 80,000 people, which is like a big park filled with lots of friends! The stadium is very big, covering an area of 204,000 square meters.
The Bird’s Nest has a very special design. It was inspired by Chinese ceramics and looks like a beautiful nest. A famous Chinese artist named Ai Weiwei helped design it. The stadium was finished in June 2008, just in time for the Olympics.
Besides the Summer Olympics, the Bird’s Nest was also used for the 2022 Winter Olympics. It is the only stadium to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies! Even today, many people visit the Bird’s Nest to see its unique shape and to watch big events. It is one of the most famous buildings in the whole world.
