Belfast Grand Central station
Belfast Grand Central station is a very important place in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is where people catch trains and buses to go many different places. It is the biggest place like this on the whole island of Ireland.
This station replaced two older places where people caught trains and buses: Great Victoria Street railway station and the Europa Buscentre. It opened in 2024, and the first bus went to Dublin on September 8, 2024. A little later, on October 13, 2024, the first train also went to Dublin from this new station.
Belfast Grand Central station has many helpful things for travelers. There are seats for everyone, including special seats for people who need extra help. You can find cash machines, snack and drink machines, ticket machines, and a quiet space called a sensory pod. There are also restrooms for people who use wheelchairs and separate restrooms for men and women.
The station is very big and can handle twenty million passengers each year. It has eight train platforms and twenty-six bus spots. This makes it easy for people to travel around Belfast and beyond. The area around the station is being turned into a new neighborhood called ‘Weaver’s Cross’, with fun places, homes, and shops.
