Bobtail squid
Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Explorer experience
Bobtail squid are tiny, friendly sea creatures. They are part of a group called cephalopods, which also includes octopuses and cuttlefish. These squid are small, with males usually between 1 and 8 centimetres long.
You can find bobtail squid in shallow waters near coastlines all around the world. They live in the Pacific Ocean, parts of the Indian Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and near the west coast of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa.
Bobtail squid have a special light organ that glows in the dark. This light comes from tiny glowing bacteria that live inside the squid. The glow helps hide the squid from others by matching the light from above, like wearing a disguise. This clever trick keeps the squid safe.
