Bohemia
Bohemia is a beautiful place in the middle of Europe. It is the biggest part of the Czech Republic today. Many people live there, and it has a very long and interesting history.
Long ago, the land was called Boiohaemum by the Romans. They named it after a group of people called the Boii who lived there long before them. Today, the Czech name for Bohemia is “Čechy,” named after the Czechs who live there.
Bohemia has been part of many different countries and empires over the years. It was once part of Great Moravia, then became its own duchy, and later a kingdom in the Holy Roman Empire. For a long time, it was part of the Habsburg monarchy and the Austrian Empire.
After a big change in 1993, Bohemia became part of the new Czech Republic. Today, its borders are marked by mountain ranges like the Bohemian Forest, the Ore Mountains, and the Giant Mountains.
Bohemia is famous for its rich history, beautiful landscapes, and important cities like Prague. It remains a special and proud part of the Czech Republic.
