Burbank is a fun city in the sunny San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County, California. It is just a short drive from the busy streets of downtown Los Angeles. Lots of people live here—about 105,000!
The city was named after David Burbank, who loved sheep and started a ranch there long ago in 1867.

Burbank is famous for making movies and TV shows. Big companies like Warner Bros. Entertainment and The Walt Disney Company have their homes here. You might see your favorite cartoon characters from Nickelodeon Animation Studio or Cartoon Network Studios too! The The CW network also starts its shows here.
Parks and Mountains
Burbank has beautiful places to explore. Near the city, you can find the green Verdugo Mountains. There are parks where you can play and have fun. One cool spot is George Izay Park, where people used to watch baseball games long ago.
Airplanes and Travel
The Hollywood Burbank Airport is right in the city. Long ago, it was where special airplanes like the U-2 spy planes were built. Today, many people fly from this airport to go on adventures!
