Campbell's Dwarf Hamster

Campbell's dwarf hamsters are tiny, friendly pets that many children love. They come from the wide, open lands of central Asia. A person named Charles William Campbell first found them in Mongolia in 1902, and they were named after him.

These little hamsters have soft fur and often show a thin, dark stripe along their backs. They love to explore and play, making them great pets for families. In their homes, they can live in small cages with toys and tunnels to play in.

In the wild, Campbell's dwarf hamsters live in burrows—deep holes in the ground with many tunnels. They are most active just before sunrise and after sunset. They eat plants, insects, and sometimes small seeds.

People keep these hamsters as pets because they are easy to care for and very curious. They can have babies many times a year, and their little families grow quickly. These hamsters are safe and healthy in many places, so they are not in danger of disappearing from the world.
